Michigan Colleges Ask Delay in Affirmative-Action Ban

Leaders at the University of Michigan, Michigan State University and Wayne State University want to move the effective date of Proposal 2 from Dec. 23 to when fall 2007 admissions at the universities have been completed — typically in the spring or early summer. The proposal banned race and gender preferences in public college admissions. (Detroit News [1], Tuesday)
Let us use race as an admission criterion one more time.
