A Department of Homeland Security official on Wednesday dodged lawmaker's questions about an e-mail that might have alerted airport security officers to covert tests aimed at checking their effectiveness…. The e-mail, dated April 28, 2006, was sent from TSA headquarters to about 650 federal employees at U.S. airports. It said undercover testers 'have a stack of fake ID's, they try to penetrate security, place IED's on an aircraft and test gate staff.' …TSA head Edmund 'Kip' Hawley said the e-mail was recalled almost immediately.
