The Industrial Revolution and Free Trade

This collection of essays, most of which were published in The Freeman, provides a comprehensive overview of two interrelated and controversial issues in economic history: the Industrial Revolution and Free Trade. Broken into three sections, the collection covers important thinkers of the period, explores the beneficial effects of the industrial revolution, and makes the case for free trade. Important articles on the Industrial Revolution by Mises and Hayek are included as well as ones by more contemporary authors. These essays are particularly useful for debating critics of both the Industrial Revolution and free trade.
