Economics in One Lesson (Abridged Audiobook)

Podcast

This primer on economic principles brilliantly analyzes the seen and unseen consequences of political and economic actions. In the words of F.A. Hayek, there is no other modern book from which the intelligent layman can learn so much about the basic truths of economics in so short a time.

  2. As a young married, I was fortunate to pull away from political conservatism, Goldwater and Buckley being my only two heroes. Astro physicist, Andrew Galambos led me to Hazlitt’s CLASSIC, and to THE LAW
by Bastiat, and to COMMON SENSE by Thomas Paine ! These three amazing writings turned my life into the study and appreciation of our Constitutional culture of capitalism and free exchange. That, good friends, is a fabulous starter kit. Then I also met Leonard Read and one of his lectures, subscribed to The Freeman along with Ayn Rand’s Objectivist Newsletter, and I was off and running into a lifelong learning curve pursuing, via Galambos, THE SCIENCE OF FREEDOM. Later,
along with FEE’s 59 CLICHES OF CAPITALISM (which I still have!!) I read
Leonard Read’s ALL TIME CLASSIC, “I, PENCIL” !! For your children, tthose are the best introductory titles of all time. Thanks FEE.
