High School Seminars
You will receive a certficate of completion at the end of the seminar stating that you participated in 17.5 hours of lecture. It is up to you to contact your school to inquire about the seminar counting for classroom credit.
A typical lecture will be interactive and will last 50-60 minutes. There will be time at the end for questions.
The dress code for the seminar is business casual. Be sure to bring all toiletries and personal items you would need for any overnight trip. To see if you need to bring linens, please refer to your seminar location on the travel page. We also recommend that you bring a notebook to take notes during the lectures.
If you will be 18 years old at the beginning of a seminar, you can attend either a high school or a college seminar. If you will not be 18 years old at the beginning of a seminar, you can attend any of our high school seminars.
Students are accepted on a rolling basis; however, we receive many applications, so it may take a few weeks for us to get back to you. You will hear back by the middle of April at the latest.
The credit card is required as part of our Attrition Policy, so you will only be charged if you cancel your attendance too close to the deadline.
In order to provide the best possible programming at no charge to our students and to respect our generous donors who fund these programs in their entirety, it is imperative that we have an accurate attendance count for each event we host. Attrition means that FEE incurs additional costs for each student in attendance, in addition to preventing students on our waiting list from attending.
To accommodate all our students and continue to provide seminars at no charge, we require that our students sign our Attrition Policy form, acknowledging that they will follow the deadlines below for opting out of a seminar.
Cancellation more than 60 days prior to a seminar – No charge
Cancellation 60 days prior a seminar - $50
Cancellation 30 days prior to a seminar - $100
Cancellation 48 hours before a seminar (including no shows at the seminar) - $200
$200 is the total cost of what it costs to host a student for one day. If you cancel within 48 hours of a seminar, you will be responsible for reimbursing FEE for the charges accrued.
