Salt Lake City, UT
Nestled in the foothills of Salt Lake City’s stunning Wasatch Mountain Range, the University of Utah’s historic Fort Douglas district has been selected to be the home of our 2012 Freedom Academy high school summer seminars. Serving as the host of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, the Fort Douglas district offers all of the activities and scenery that one would expect to find in a resort, all while maintaining the convenience being just a short TRAX (light rail) ride away from of downtown Salt Lake City and only ten miles from SLC International Airport. When students are not occupied by the week’s lectures, they may wish to take a soak in one of the two Olympic size swimming pools, play a game of sand volleyball, basketball, disc golf, go indoor ice skating, tour the Fort Douglas Military Museum, the brand new Natural History Museum, Fine Arts Museum, or explore one of the many nearby hiking trails.
